They also offered a charming selection of postcards, like the one Surya sent me. Interestingly, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) also maintained a stall within the fort, showcasing their fascinating "Tarangampadi Excavation & Conservation Report." It seems Tranquebar continues to be a treasure trove of cultural and historical gems.
Upon establishing this blog, I endeavored to select an appropriate name, only to discover that it had already been claimed by someone else. Undeterred, I contemplated the inherent sweetness associated with the term "dairy" and found resonance with the delightful nature of Postcrossing. Consequently, I crafted the page under the title "Postcrossing Dairy." Please refrain from interpreting this choice as an error or typographical mistake.

The postcard reignited memories of Tranquebar
A delightful postcard recently arrived from Tranquebar (தரங்கம்பாடி), postmarked with a colorful Indian stamp. It was sent by Surya, a talented cinematographer I met through some mutual friends in the film industry.
The postcard reignited memories of my own trip to Tranquebar several years ago with Palainivel, a friend who now dxer in radio and resides in Kanchipuram. During that visit, we explored the historic town, and I was particularly drawn to the Tranquebar Association. They had a captivating display of books on local history and culture, and I couldn't resist picking up a few.
